Smells like... teen spirit in Top Radio!

The 11-year-old "broadcasters" decided to prepare a radio tribute to their favourite boyband, One Direction for the radio station of our school, "Top Radio"!

The kids collect information about their favourite singers and play a lot of the songs they love!

Listen to the broadcast, as it was played by the European School Radio, here:

It was a wonderful evening...

...and this isn't a "figure of speech"!
Last Sunday, Sakis Sakellaridis (bouzouki and singing), Lefteris Tzagkarakis (lyre, rhythm section and singing), Giorgos Stavrakakis (guitar and singing) and our friend and colleague Alexandra Vergadi with her beautiful voice (the music band "Figure of Speech", in other words) gave their best and made our evening fantastic with singing, dancing and, mainly, good music!

There were a lot of people...!

And the "Figure of Speech" in great spirits...!

   We ate well...

   Danced...

   Danced a little more...

   ...and even more...

   Well, much more...!

   Smiles speak for themselves...

A small taste of how we spent that evening...:

For one more time, we would like to thank the people who helped make the music evening a reality and those who were there last Sunday!
A special "thanks" to the "Figure of Speech" who honoured us with their performance and to the Parent-Teacher Association for the noon-stop "running" and preparations!

Signs and messages of communication

The two unrivaled Ms Katerinas strike again!!!
The two fifth grade classes, within the framework of the "Flexible Zone" class, have been exploring and running a flashback to the development of communication from antiquity till today. One of the results of their quest was the song "Signs and Messages of Communication"-given in the modern Greek Sign Language...

"I'm getting a message, talk to you, talk with you...
I'm sending a message, disagree, I love thee...
I'm writing a message asking you to see you...
I'm hearing a message, I agree, I love thee...
I say, listen, I'm walking, you meeting...

Message just for you I am here to tell you...

Even in disagreeing, on this we are agreeing:
We are trying to persuade, rhetoric is being made!"

Ludwg Van Beethoven: The great musician

I recently heard that "Beethoven" is the dog in a movie...!

But, because Beethoven was not only that, I decided to introduce him to you...

Beethoven was one of the greatest musicians of all time. He was born in Germany in 1770 and died in 1827. he began composing musical pieces from an early age. His first composition came out when he was only 12. He quickly became popular as a composer and as a pianist as well.
He slowly began losing his hearing until, in 1820, he became totally deaf. One of the greatest musicians could not hear at all!! But Beethoven didn't lose his courage too! He kept on composing music. Some of his most famous pieces were written when he was totally deaf! He couldn't even hear the audience's  claps...

Pieces by beethoven like the "9th Symphony" or "The Ode to Joy" are considered to be real musical masterpieces.Listen to this:

Princes, for a while...!

«Take a little care of me! I'm an unlucky little rose»

Even the little, grumpy rose finally understands and respects the Little prince's need to travel and know the world... "To learn a lot", as he himself says...
…And somehow like that, the two of them parted before the trip
… The fourth grade kids (2010-2011) wished him to have nice explorations and kept from him "the light in the heart" and from the little rose its scent and its song…

The adaptation and the texts belong to Ms Katerina Lysiova-as do the infinite interventions in the video for the last-minute directions (or, maybe, to "steal" some of our kids' fame?)!
